Herman Hirsch was my Great-grandfather - My father's father's father, he did a number of notable things in his life. One of them was to create a "game," an aid to learning about the various Jewish symbols. It was patented in 1922, and there are probably few copies of the game still in existence. I own one copy, and I am pleased to put pictures of it on the Internet in hopes that others may find it useful.

The "game" consists of twelve equilateral triangles - the originals were made of wood, with an altitude of three inches and a hexagon with a distance across flats of six inches.

There are five illustrations accompanying this page:

In 1925, Herman Hirsch traveled to Palestine. He wrote about his trip, and I have transcribed it to this web site. In the process, I may have made several corrections in spelling, some of which I have noted, and there may be errors in transcription, some of which stem from the fact that the copy I used has a few illegible spots.
